What Is Delta-8 THC?
Delta-8 THC is a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in hemp, but only in trace amounts. Because there is so little of it in the plant, almost every delta-8 product on the market is made by converting hemp-derived CBD into delta-8 in a lab. That conversion step is exactly why lab testing matters so much in this category: the finished product needs a certificate of analysis showing both potency and purity, including residual solvents and heavy metals.
Chemically, delta-8 and delta-9 are nearly identical — the difference is the position of one double bond in the molecule. In practice, most people describe delta-8 as noticeably less intense than delta-9 at the same milligram dose. How to Choose a Delta-8 Product
Format first. Gummies are the easiest to dose and the most predictable, but they take 45–120 minutes to come on. Vapes and flower come on within minutes and fade faster, which suits people who want more control over timing. Tinctures sit somewhere in between.
