Koi CBD for Dogs Review (2026): Biscuits, Soft Chews and Pet Spray

Koi’s pet range is seven products across three formats, and unlike a lot of pet CBD it is built on actual formulations rather than hemp extract sprayed onto a generic treat. Here is what is in each one, what the price ladder looks like, and the regulatory history you should know about first.

Before anything else: talk to your vet before giving CBD to an animal, particularly one on medication or with a diagnosed condition. Nothing on this page is veterinary advice, and we make no claims about what these products treat. This is a review of what Koi sells and how it is formulated.

The Koi pet range

Product Format Hemp extract Supporting ingredients Price ladder
Calming CBD Soft Chews Soft chew USDA organic full spectrum Tryptophan, chamomile, valerian root, passion flower $29.99 / $59.98 / $119.96

Omega Hemp CBD Soft Chews Soft chew USDA organic full spectrum Omega fatty acids $29.99 / $59.98 / $119.96
CBD Dog Biscuits — Calming Baked biscuit Full spectrum Chamomile; green apple & peanut butter $29.99 / $59.98 / $119.96

Naturals CBD Pet Spray Liquid spray, 500mg Broad spectrum Coconut oil $39.99 / 3 for $119.97 / 5 for $199.95

All of it is vet-formulated according to Koi, formulated without gluten, dairy or GMOs, and third-party lab tested to the same standard as the human range — batch COAs behind a QR code. That last point is worth more than it sounds; pet CBD is a category where testing standards are frequently worse than the human equivalent.

The soft chews — the pick of the range

Three variants on the same base: USDA organic full-spectrum hemp in a tender chew, in peanut butter and banana. The Calming version is the most thoroughly formulated of the seven products, pairing the hemp with tryptophan, chamomile, valerian root and passion flower — four ingredients with long histories in calming supplements, present in meaningful roles rather than as label decoration.

Texture matters more than people expect with dogs. A soft chew gets eaten by animals that will spit out a hard biscuit, and it can be broken to adjust the dose for a small dog. If you are buying one Koi pet product, buy these.

The price ladder is linear rather than discounted — $29.99, $59.98, $119.96 for 30, 60 and 120 — so unlike the human range there is no volume saving to chase. Buy the 30-count first and find out whether your dog will eat them.

The dog biscuits

Baked biscuits with full-spectrum Koi hemp extract in three variants — Calming with chamomile, Immune, and Joint — in green apple and peanut butter flavours, on the same price ladder as the chews.

These are a treat first and a supplement second, which is either the point or the problem depending on what you want. If you are already giving your dog biscuits and would rather they contained something useful, these do the job. If you are trying to deliver a consistent daily dose, the soft chews are easier to break and easier for older dogs to eat.

Koi Naturals CBD Pet Spray

500mg of broad-spectrum CBD with coconut oil in a spray bottle, $39.99 for one or $199.95 for five. Sprays onto food or directly into the mouth, and Koi says the flavour is light enough for fussy eaters.

Two things distinguish it. It is the only Koi pet product suitable for cats as well as dogs, and it is the only one using broad-spectrum rather than full-spectrum extract — so effectively no THC, which some owners will prefer given that animals cannot tell you when they feel odd.

It is also the only format that lets you titrate a dose precisely, which matters a great deal across the range from a 4kg cat to a 40kg dog. If your animal is small, this is probably the right format rather than a chew sized for a dog.

The 2019 FDA letter, and why it is relevant here

When the FDA wrote to Koi in November 2019, one of the five categories of violation it alleged concerned the pet line specifically: marketing unapproved new animal drugs. Koi Naturals CBD Spray for Pets and Koi CBD Soft Chews were both named in the letter.

The objection was to therapeutic claims in the marketing, not to the contents of the products. Koi’s current pet pages no longer carry the disease claims the FDA quoted — we checked the catalogue in August 2026 — and describe the products in supplement terms instead. The full record, including how the associated class action ended, is in our Koi lawsuit explainer.

The broader point for any pet CBD buyer: no CBD product is an FDA-approved veterinary medicine, and any brand telling you their treat treats a condition is telling you something they are not permitted to say. Judge these products on formulation, lab work and whether your animal will eat them — and take the medical questions to a vet.

Verdict

A better-than-average pet CBD range from a brand that applies the same lab standard to animal products as human ones, which is not universal in this category. The Calming Soft Chews are the standout: a real formulation, an easy texture, and a dose you can split.

Buy the spray instead if you have a cat, a small dog, or you want to control the dose precisely. Buy the biscuits if your dog already expects a biscuit. And buy the 30-count first — there is no volume discount, and there is no point owning 120 treats your dog will not eat.

Koi CBD for Pets FAQ

Is Koi CBD safe for dogs?

Koi’s pet products are vet-formulated, made without gluten, dairy or GMOs, and third-party lab tested with batch COAs. That said, no CBD product is an approved veterinary medicine, and you should speak to your vet before giving CBD to any animal — especially one on medication.

What is the best Koi product for dogs?

The Calming CBD Soft Chews. They use USDA organic full-spectrum hemp with tryptophan, chamomile, valerian root and passion flower, the texture suits older dogs, and they can be broken to adjust the dose.

Can cats have Koi CBD?

The Koi Naturals CBD Pet Spray is formulated for dogs and cats. The chews and biscuits are dog products.

Does Koi pet CBD contain THC?

The soft chews and biscuits use full-spectrum hemp, which contains trace THC. The Naturals Pet Spray is broad spectrum with effectively none, which is the safer choice if that concerns you.

How much Koi CBD should I give my dog?

Follow the label for your animal’s weight and start at the low end. Dosing varies enormously between a small cat and a large dog, which is why the spray is easier to titrate than a fixed-size chew. Ask your vet.

Did the FDA take action over Koi pet products?

The November 2019 FDA warning letter to Koi named the pet spray and soft chews and alleged the marketing of unapproved new animal drugs. The objection was to therapeutic claims in the marketing rather than to the products themselves, and those claims are no longer on Koi’s pages.
