Best Mushroom Gummies 2026: Functional Picks, and the Kind to Avoid

Functional mushroom gummies contain extracts of lion's mane, reishi, cordyceps, chaga and similar mushrooms. They are sold as supplements, and they will not make you trip. We checked the labels and prices of four brands we can recommend: CBDfx (mushrooms plus CBD), Plant People (mushroom-only, zero sugar), Lazarus Naturals (a high-dose lion's mane focus gummy) and Slumber (reishi and a low dose of melatonin for sleep).

We also explain what the research actually shows, which is less than most labels suggest, and why we steer clear of amanita and "magic" mushroom gummies, which have been behind recalls, an FDA safety alert and a California public health warning.

Our Picks at a Glance

Best With CBD

CBDfx CBD Gummies With Mushrooms 1500mg

$54.99 (on sale from $64.99). 25 mg of broad-spectrum CBD per gummy plus a seven-mushroom blend: chaga, cordyceps, lion's mane, reishi, maitake, turkey tail and shiitake.

Vegan, black cherry flavor, THC labeled non-detectable. The mushroom dose is small, so buy it for the CBD first.

Best Without CBD

Plant People Wonder Day Mushroom Multi

$29.99 for 60 gummies (a 30-day supply), or $44.99 for Double Strength. A multi-mushroom blend including lion's mane, cordyceps, reishi, chaga and turkey tail.

Zero sugar (sweetened with maltitol). Focus and Sleep versions are $34.99, and 5-day trial packs are $9.95.

Best For Sleep

Slumber Rest & Renew Mushroom Sleep Gummies

$49 for 30 gummies. Organic reishi fruiting-body extract with 0.5 mg of melatonin per gummy, plus chamomile, magnesium citrate and passionflower.

Take one or two about 30 minutes before bed. A low melatonin dose, which we like.

Side-by-Side Comparison

Prices and label details as shown on each brand's site on October 25, 2026. A serving is two gummies unless noted.

Product Price Mushrooms per serving Other actives Sweetener
CBDfx CBD Gummies With Mushrooms 1500mg $54.99 (sale) 7 species, about 7.1 mg each (50 mg total) 50 mg broad-spectrum CBD Organic cane sugar, tapioca syrup
Plant People Wonder Day $29.99 / 60 gummies "3,000 mg" blend, stated as a 10:1 herbal equivalent; no per-species amounts None listed Maltitol (0 g sugar)
Plant People Wonder Focus $34.99 / 60 gummies Lion's mane 200 mg, cordyceps 100 mg (serving basis not stated) Green tea extract (about 35 mg caffeine per gummy), Alpha GPC, B6, B12 Maltitol, isomalt (0 g sugar)
Plant People Wonder Sleep $34.99 / 60 gummies Reishi 200 mg Saffron, passionflower, chamomile, corydalis, GABA; no melatonin Maltitol, isomalt (0 g sugar)
Lazarus Naturals Clarity $15 / 20 gummies; $35 / 60 Lion's mane extract 1,200 mg per serving Panax ginseng 400 mg, Alpha-GPC 315 mg Not stated on the product page
Slumber Rest & Renew $49 / 30 gummies Organic reishi (amount not listed); 1–2 gummies Melatonin 0.5 mg per gummy, chamomile, magnesium, passionflower Sugar, cane sugar, tapioca

Two things stand out. CBDfx gives the clearest per-species numbers, but they are small. Plant People quotes a big headline number that is an "herbal equivalent" of a 10:1 extract, which points to roughly 300 mg of actual extract per serving, and it does not break that down by mushroom.

1. CBDfx CBD Gummies With Mushrooms: Best If You Want CBD Too

MCR Score: 8.0/10. CBDfx is one of the brands we review most, and this is its daytime "wellness" gummy: 25 mg of broad-spectrum CBD per gummy, 50 mg per two-gummy serving, and 7.1 mg each of seven mushrooms (50 mg of mushroom in total). The bottle is 1,500 mg of CBD, which works out to about 60 gummies. CBDfx did not state the count on the page, so check the label.

What we like: clear, per-mushroom amounts, a vegan pectin base and a THC result labeled non-detectable. What to know: 7 mg of each mushroom is far below the amounts used in human studies, so most of the effect you notice will come from the CBD. CBDfx itself suggests taking these in the morning because the mushrooms "might interfere with sleep" if taken in the evening. It also warns that hemp products can cause a positive THC drug test, and it does not ship to Idaho.

Subscribing saves 25%. For CBDfx's other gummies, see our CBDfx gummies review.

2. Plant People Wonder Gummies: Best Mushroom-Only Range

MCR Score: 8.0/10. Plant People makes a line of zero-sugar mushroom gummies, each aimed at a different job. Wonder Day ($29.99, or $44.99 for Double Strength) is the all-rounder with seven or more mushrooms. Wonder Focus ($34.99) pairs 200 mg of lion's mane and 100 mg of cordyceps with green tea extract, Alpha GPC and B vitamins. Wonder Sleep ($34.99) uses 200 mg of reishi with saffron, passionflower, chamomile and corydalis, and no melatonin.

What we like: every pouch is 60 gummies, the brand says it uses 100% fruiting bodies, there is no sugar, and 5-day trial packs cost $9.95 so you can test a formula before buying a full pouch. Subscribe and save takes 20% off. What to know: Wonder Focus contains caffeine (Plant People says about 35 mg per gummy). The page says the gummies are lab-tested but does not name the lab or publish results. Maltitol can upset some stomachs in larger amounts. Parts of the product pages contradict each other, such as headline milligram totals that do not match the itemized label, so go by the supplement facts panel.

3. Slumber Rest & Renew: Best Mushroom Gummy for Sleep

MCR Score: 7.5/10. Slumber is best known for its CBN sleep products (see our Slumber review). Rest & Renew is its mushroom option: organic reishi fruiting-body extract with 0.5 mg of melatonin per gummy, plus organic chamomile, magnesium citrate and organic passion flower, in a strawberry gummy. Slumber suggests one or two gummies 30 minutes before bed.

What we like: 0.5 mg is a modest melatonin dose, lower than many sleep gummies. What to know: Slumber does not list how much reishi is in each gummy, the gummies contain sugar, and at $49 for 30 it costs more per gummy than the Plant People pouches. No CBD or CBN is listed for this formula.

4. Lazarus Naturals Clarity: Most Lion's Mane per Serving

MCR Score: 7.5/10. Lazarus Naturals, best known for low-cost CBD (see our Lazarus Naturals review), also makes an organic mushroom gummy with no CBD. Clarity lists 1,200 mg of lion's mane extract, 400 mg of Panax ginseng and 315 mg of Alpha-GPC per serving, in a black currant gummy made with real fruit juice. It costs $15 for 20 or $35 for 60, and Lazarus takes 50% off a third gummy product in the same order.

What we like: by a wide margin the most lion's mane per serving of any gummy here, at a low price. What to know: the product page does not say how many gummies make a serving or how much sugar they contain, so check the label; Panax ginseng is a stimulant-like herb that is not for everyone, and anyone on blood thinners or diabetes medicine should ask a pharmacist first. Lazarus's Assistance Program (up to 40% off gummies for veterans, people on long-term disability and low-income households) applies.

What the Research Actually Says

Lion's mane has the most human research of the functional mushrooms, and it is still thin. A 2025 systematic review in Frontiers in Nutrition found 26 studies, of which only 10 were in people: five randomized trials, three pilot trials, one cohort study and one case report. Some small trials found modest improvements on cognitive tests and mood scales, but one 28-day study found no effect on cognition. Samples were small (roughly 13 to 77 people) and the authors call for larger, longer trials.

Reishi and turkey tail have mostly been studied in people with cancer, as add-ons to treatment. The National Cancer Institute's summary says reishi was generally well tolerated in those trials, and a turkey tail extract called PSK is used alongside cancer treatment in Japan. That is not the same as a gummy, and the FDA has not approved any medicinal mushroom to treat cancer.

Cordyceps, chaga, maitake and the rest rely largely on lab and animal research. The NCI also notes that supplement ingredients can vary from batch to batch and may not be present in the amounts on the label.

Our take: treat functional mushroom gummies as supplements with modest, uncertain effects. Pick one for a specific reason (focus, sleep, a CBD routine), give it a few weeks, and stop if you notice nothing.

The Mushroom Gummies We Don't Recommend

Amanita, muscimol and "magic" mushroom gummies

Gummies sold online as "magic", "microdose" or amanita products are a different category from functional mushrooms, and several have caused serious harm. In June 2024, Diamond Shruumz recalled all its chocolate bars, cones and gummies. The FDA's investigation counted 180 illnesses (118 among people who reported eating Diamond Shruumz, the rest linked to other mushroom chocolate bars), 73 hospitalizations and 3 potentially associated deaths across 34 states, and its tests found muscimol, psilocin, a psilocin analogue, the prescription drug pregabalin and kava compounds.

On December 18, 2024, the FDA said Amanita muscaria and its compounds muscimol and ibotenic acid are not authorized for use in conventional food and do not meet the safety standard for food. In September 2025 it sent a warning letter to Blue Forest Farms over amanita capsules, tincture and chocolate. And on December 11, 2025, the California Department of Public Health told people not to eat TRĒ House "Magic Mushroom" gummies, chocolate and syrup after its tests found synthetic psychedelic compounds (see our TRĒ House review).

Our rule: if a mushroom gummy promises a trip or euphoria, lists amanita or muscimol, or hides its ingredients in a proprietary blend, we do not link to it.

How to Choose a Mushroom Gummy

  • Look for named species and milligrams. "Lion's mane 200 mg" tells you more than a large blend total or an "herbal equivalent" figure.
  • Check for fruiting body. Plant People and Slumber both say they use mushroom fruiting bodies rather than mycelium grown on grain.
  • Watch for added stimulants and sleep aids. Wonder Focus contains caffeine from green tea; Slumber Rest & Renew contains melatonin. Don't take a focus gummy at night or a sleep gummy before driving.
  • Decide whether you want CBD. If you do, CBDfx combines both in one gummy. If you are drug tested, note that CBDfx warns hemp products can cause a positive THC test (more in our drug test guide).
  • Ask about interactions. Talk to a doctor or pharmacist first if you take blood thinners, diabetes or blood pressure medicine, or immune-suppressing drugs, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. CBD can also interact with some prescription medicines.
  • Mind the sweetener. CBDfx and Slumber use sugar; Plant People uses maltitol, which some people find hard on the stomach.

Mushroom Gummies FAQ

Do mushroom gummies get you high?

Functional mushroom gummies made with lion's mane, reishi, cordyceps or chaga do not. Gummies sold as "magic", "microdose" or amanita products are different: some have contained muscimol, psilocin or synthetic psychedelics and have led to hospitalizations.

Are mushroom gummies legal?

Functional mushroom supplements are widely sold in the US. The FDA has said Amanita muscaria and muscimol are not authorized in conventional food, and psilocybin remains illegal under federal law. Gummies that also contain CBD follow hemp rules, which are changing in late 2026; see our federal hemp deadline tracker.

Which mushroom gummy is best for focus?

Lion's mane has the most research for cognition, though it is limited. Lazarus Naturals Clarity lists the most, 1,200 mg of lion's mane extract per serving with ginseng and Alpha-GPC. Plant People Wonder Focus lists 200 mg of lion's mane with cordyceps, plus caffeine from green tea extract.

Which mushroom gummy is best for sleep?

Reishi is the mushroom most often used in sleep formulas. Slumber Rest & Renew pairs reishi with 0.5 mg of melatonin; Plant People Wonder Sleep pairs reishi with herbs such as saffron and passionflower and has no melatonin.

How long do mushroom gummies take to work?

Do not expect an immediate effect. The human studies on lion's mane ran from a week to a year, and most lasted several weeks. The CBD in a product like CBDfx's may be noticeable sooner.

Can I take mushroom gummies with CBD?

Yes, many people do, and CBDfx combines them in one gummy. If you take prescription medication, check with a pharmacist first, because both CBD and some mushrooms can interact with medicines.
