CBD gummies: JustCBD on choice, Koi on clarity

Koi runs three: Anytime Balance at 10mg CBD a piece, Nighttime Rest at 10mg with melatonin, and the Complete full spectrum line, each in 10, 20 and 60 counts at $13.99, $24.99 and $59.99. That is the whole decision.

Which is better depends on whether choice helps you. Twenty-eight options is genuinely useful if you know what CBN or ashwagandha does for you. If you do not, three products at one dose with a $13.99 trial size is the faster route to an answer. JustCBD is also cheaper at the very bottom — $10 for Clear Bears beats anything Koi sells.

THC, Delta-8 and THCA: Koi wins outright

This is not a close call, because JustCBD does not compete here. It has 13 products carrying some THC, all CBD-forward blends. It sells no Delta-8, no THCA flower and no pre-rolls.

Koi sells Delta-8 at 25mg and 50mg a piece, Delta-9 and an extra-strength version at 25mg THC with 25mg CBD, Dragon Blend at 125mg total cannabinoids per piece, three tiers of THCA flower, kief-infused mini pre-rolls and diamond-infused pre-rolls.

If any part of your shortlist involves smoking something or taking more than 10mg of THC, JustCBD is not on the list. One caveat that applies to all of it: Koi cannot ship THCA to Arkansas, California, Idaho, Minnesota, Oregon or Rhode Island, and Delta-8 is restricted in more states again. Check yours first.

Tinctures: JustCBD on range, Koi on the one that matters

JustCBD lists 11 tinctures, though five of those are pet flavors. For people, the notable one is the CBD + THC full spectrum oil at $79.99. Koi sells exactly one: Koi Naturals broad spectrum.

The reason Koi's single entry is worth mentioning is the spectrum. Broad spectrum means the THC has been removed, and Koi lists it at 0.001 percent. Almost every tincture we rank is full spectrum, which is the better product for most people and the wrong product if you get tested at work. If you need a tincture and you are on a testing programme, Koi has the answer and JustCBD mostly does not.

Topicals: JustCBD, on variety and price

JustCBD has eight: relief creams with and without menthol, a freeze roll-on, a heat roll-on, and an Ultra Relief gel including a CBD+THC version, from $24.99 to $49.99. Koi has four: the CBD Balm at $39.99, a 3000mg full spectrum balm, the roll-on gel at $39.99 or $79.99, and Dragon Balm.

JustCBD wins on entry price and on having a hot and a cold option, which matters more than it sounds if you know which one your body responds to. Pets: different answers to different problems

JustCBD has ten pet products, built around five tincture flavors — bacon, beef, chicken, tuna and salmon — from $17.99. That flavor range is a real advantage: if your animal refuses one, you have four more to try, and $17.99 is the cheapest trial in the category.

Koi has six, and they are formulated rather than flavored. The Hip and Joint chews add glucosamine, MSM and green-lipped mussel; the Calming chews add tryptophan, chamomile, valerian and passion flower; the pet spray is broad spectrum, so zero THC, and pump-dosed, which makes it the only product either brand sells that genuinely suits a cat.

Buy JustCBD if the problem is getting your animal to take anything. Buy Koi if the problem is a specific one and you want the formula to address it. Both appear in our best CBD for dogs ranking.

Lab work, guarantees and history

Both brands publish third-party certificates of analysis. Koi's are searchable by the lot number printed on the package, which is the version of that promise that actually lets you check the jar in your hand rather than a representative sample.

On returns, Koi publishes a specific policy: a full refund on returns started within 90 days of purchase, and 50 percent back between 91 and 150 days. Free economy shipping applies over $69. That 90-day window is unusually long for the category and it is written down, which is the part that matters.

Koi also has regulatory history worth knowing before you buy. A 2019 California class action, Fausett v. Koi CBD, was voluntarily dismissed without prejudice in February 2020, and the company has received FDA warning letters in November 2019 and July 2023.
