Zoap history & lineage
Leafly reports that Zoap was made by crossing Rainbow Sherbet and Pink Guava, and credits the breeding to Deo Farms of Oakland, California. The catalogue’s account is more detailed than most modern pedigrees: selections of OZ Kush became Pink Guava, Pink Guava crossed to Sunset Sherbert produced the RS line (Rainbow Sherbert), and Deo then bred RS#16 back to Rainbow Sherbert to arrive at Zoap.
That makes Zoap a recent, breeder-attributed cultivar rather than a folk name, which is rare in this library. It still does not make any particular jar Zoap: the pedigree is the breeder’s account as relayed by a catalogue, and a vendor’s use of the name is a label until a batch record backs it.
Aroma notes & reported terpenes
Apricot, chemical and apple are the catalogue’s three descriptors — a stone-fruit sweetness with a solvent-like edge that reviewers often call sharp or gassy. The mix is distinctive enough that a Zoap-labelled jar smelling of straight candy deserves a second look.

Our retail partners listed six products (five at CBD.co and one at LooperVerse) carrying the name when we checked on 28 September 2026 — from Koi, Black Roses, Destino Farms, Higher Education and Looper — across THCa flower, pre-rolls, vapes and disposables. Koi and Black Roses sell it as THCa flower under the name; the rest carry a Zoap-style terpene blend. None of it is sold as genetically verified Zoap. Where a card says option, the strain is one choice on a multi-strain product, so pick it on the vendor's page.
The December problem, in one paragraph
Almost every jar of "Zoap-style" hemp flower on sale in the United States is sold as THCA flower, and THCA flower has a deadline on it. Section 781 of Public Law 119-37 rewrote the federal hemp definition to measure total THC rather than delta-9 alone, and total THC counts the THCA sitting in the bud. That single word removes essentially all THCA flower from the federal hemp category.
The date is contested and we hedge it deliberately. Several states bite earlier still. Our standing advice has not changed: plan for 12 November and treat 11 December as upside. Search aliases: Zop
Zop is the only alias Leafly lists. Zoap is unrelated to the Zkittlez family despite the shared letter; Z-names are a fashion, not a lineage.
