These two brands barely overlap any more. Five has spent the last few years turning itself into a THC edibles and beverage company with a very precise dose ladder, and it now sells three CBD-led products out of 43. Koi runs 31 products across CBD, delta-8, delta-9, THCA flower, vapes and a pet line. Picking between them is mostly a question of what you actually want to take.

The thing nobody tells you: Five is not really a CBD brand any more
The name says CBD. The catalogue does not. Of Five's 43 listings, exactly three are CBD-led products, and even those are CBD and THC blends rather than pure CBD. Everything else is a THC product: microdose gummies at 2mg, daily gummies at 5mg and 10mg, fast-acting gummies at 15mg, THC seltzers, THC chocolates, THC capsules and THC tinctures.
That is not a criticism. Five has built the most carefully graduated THC dose ladder of any hemp brand we have reviewed, and if microdosing is what you are after it is very good at it. But if you searched for Five expecting a CBD company, the catalogue you land on is going to surprise you.
Koi went the other way. It kept a real CBD business — the Naturals tincture, four gummy lines, four topicals, a seven-product pet range — and added intoxicating hemp alongside it rather than in place of it.
If you want CBD
Koi, and it is not close. Five's only real answer is its Full Spectrum CBD + THC Gummies, which run 25mg CBD with either 2mg or 5mg of THC per piece. The 60-count Original is $69.99, so 1500mg of CBD works out to 4.7¢ per milligram — the same rate as Koi Complete gummies at the same size, with the THC included at no extra cost. On that one product, Five is genuinely competitive.
The problem is everything Five does not have. No CBD oil. No topical for a sore knee. Nothing for a dog. And no zero-THC option at all, which matters if you are drug tested — every Five product contains THC by design. Koi's broad-spectrum tincture and its Anytime Balance and Nighttime Rest gummies list THC at 0.001 percent. If a negative test matters to you, Five has nothing to offer.

This one splits by how much control you want over the dose.
Five wins on precision
The ladder runs 2mg microdose gummies at $29.99, 5mg at $39.99, 10mg at $49.99 and fast-acting 15mg strain-named gummies. There are 2mg drops, 2mg capsules and 2mg and 10mg seltzers. If you want to find your dose by moving up one small step at a time, no other hemp brand makes it this easy, and the seltzers are something Koi simply does not sell.
Koi wins on ceiling and format
Koi's Delta 9 gummies start at 10mg and the Extra Strength is 25mg THC with 25mg CBD. Dragon Blend is 125mg of combined cannabinoids per piece. And Koi has formats Five does not touch at all: THCA flower, pre-rolls and a 5g disposable vape.
Put plainly: Five is where you go to take 2mg and feel almost nothing on purpose. Koi is where you go if you want to smoke something, or if 25mg is your starting point rather than your ceiling.
